Vajrapani Avalokiteswar

The image of the four-armed Vajrapani Avalokiteswar carved out of red sand stone stands on a double petalled lotus throne and is in a good state of preservation. Two flying Vidyadharas holding wreath in hands are seen flanking the image at the top.

Out of his four hands the upper right hand holding the gado is broken from the elbow. His lower right hand holds the stem of the lotus flower on which his mark of conginzance, the vajra is placed. The lower left hand carries a book whereas the upper left is placed on the head of a four handed demon. The upper two hands of the demon are folded in great devotion whereas the lower right and left are shown with a snake and a sword respectively. To the right of the figure is another lady attendant with vajra in her right hand. Another female devotee in kneeling position and holding objects of worship in her right hand is carved just below the lotus pedestal. Bangles, armlets, necklaces, beaded girdle set with locket, kundalas are some of the typical decorative ornaments of the figure. Matted locks of hair are set with jewels. A sacred thread encircles the body whereas his drappery covers almost the lower part of his body.
