Gold coins of Nagavamsi Kings of Chakrakot

A hoard of 28 gold coins was brought from Dumadei Reserved Forest in Kodinga police-station of Koraput district. They are almost of equal size. The concavely shaped face of each coin contains the name of the king who issued it. The embossed letters are invariably close to the surface of roundshaped edge of each coin. These letters are in the old form of Telugu scripts of the llth-12th centuries A.D. On every coin there is an emblem bearing either the figure of a sword or a Siva lingam flanked by a few dotted marks. Each coin contains a second emblem at its centre. The names of Rajabhusana, Ranabhusana and Prapaganda¬Bhairava occur on these coins.
