Unlike horn work this craft had a very localised tendency under the patronisation of royal families in Orissa. Even now the collection of ivory being difficult and costly and the carving comparatively hard ivory craft in the State is scanty. In the collections of the gallery are ivory table from Jarada palace in Ganjam district. Ivory palanquin from Jaipur in Koraput district, and other small articles like fan, buttoms, toys, bullock cart, saraswati etc.
