Almost all the wooc carvings given with colour are mainly based on Folk forms. The colour scheme is purely in Odisi style. These look dazzling with bright colours of red, yellow, blue, white and black. The chitrakars or the traditional painters of Puri, Sonepur, Bargarh, Paralakhemundi produce these articles in abundance for domestic and ritualistic uses. Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra set in miniature wooden temples, Radha-Krishna on circular hangings, altars with provision of doors, Gaja Simha, Elephant with rider, horse and rider placed on wheeled carts, various dolls are the painted wood carvings. Painted dowary boxes of varying sizes and shapes, Dasavatara dolls, the icons of Jaganneth, Balabhadra and Subhadra are very interesting.
