The bare remains of the dead animals are shaped to beautiful forms with mirror like polish. The comb is a very common thing of household article made out of horn. The crabs, birds, inkstand, penholders, tiger, crocodile, lion, camel are produced from horn. The crab and the prawns displayed in the gallery offer a strange similarity to the living ones. There are important horn works like war elephant„ war horse, Gaja vidala, Gaja simha and Nava gunjara etc. prepared in the style of temple motif. The workmanship of horn carving, particularly in the centres at Cuttack and Parajakhemundi is so famous that the artisans have earned name and fame in the national and international arena.
